Regensburg – The automotive supplier Vitesco can look forward to several large orders from abroad. A large American automobile manufacturer has ordered 800-volt inverters with silicon carbide technology for more than one billion euros.

The technology is important for fast charging of e-cars. There are also orders from a Chinese and a Japanese automobile manufacturer, each with a volume of several hundred million euros.

The orders from Japan and China are, according to the announcement, orders for high-voltage axle drives, which are manufactured and delivered as complete systems, as well as high-voltage power electronics. Vitesco did not disclose which companies the three clients were.

In addition, the SDax company plans to produce the high-voltage inverters and the associated power module in North America from the beginning of 2025. Vitesco is the former drive division of the Continental Corporation. It has been an independent, listed company since mid-September.
