Tell us about your debut Punjabi film.
The film is titled Bai Ji Kuttange and it will release in 2022. Dev Kharoud, Gurpreet Ghuggi and Upasana Singh are playing lead characters in it. My father has always dreamed of me doing a Punjabi film and I am happy that I have been able to fulfill my dad’s dream.
What is your focus now as an actor?
I would like to do more Punjabi films. I am also part of a Marathi film which is set in the 18th century. I have worked hard on the language and am happy with the outcome.
You are part of an NGO called Punar Janm. Can you share something about it?
Yes, Punar Janm is an NGO that is working in India and America to take up education of kids who lost their parents to Covid. We are also helping musicians and providing them with musical instruments.
You are also a part of an initiative Pause.Breathe.Talk.
What is it about?
The foundation Pause.Breathe.Talk has made experienced therapists accessible and affordable for people suffering from mental illness. This has helped many to come out of depression and anxiety. This foundation is dedicated to Sushant Singh Rajput.
Can you tell us about your association with Sushant Singh Rajput?
I used to be a fashion consultant and worked with Sushant Singh Rajput during his film Raabta. I met him many times at his Mumbai house. It took me a while to digest the news of his death.
What is your idea of happiness?
I do not hold grudges. I let go and move ahead. I do not believe in carrying a baggage.
Who are your inspirations in life?
Indu Shahani , former sheriff of Mumbai and my school principal Dr Fauzia Khan — I have learned a lot from them. I look forward to meeting people and learning from them.
What do you love to do in your free time?
Sleeping is something which I find very relaxing and also I watch a lot of documentaries on OTT platforms. It’s also a great source of knowledge.
