*Score: Ronaldo 78, Sancho 90
In Champions League history, only six players have played more than 140 games: Ronaldo, Iker Casillas, Lionel Messi, Xavi, Raul and Ryan Giggs. But Ronaldo alone has scored 140 goals, with the opening goal against Villarreal. The Portuguese superstar has shot in all five group stage matches this season, with a total of six goals, accounting for 60% of Man Utd’s goals.
In the 78th minute, goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli passed irresponsibly to midfielder Etienne Capoue, when Fred rushed in behind. Fred’s pressure caused Capoue to bounce the ball too far, to Ronaldo’s position in the penalty area. Having to turn his back and not stand still, Ronaldo still managed to kick the ball with a touch over Rulli’s head, bouncing the ball into the net to the surprise of the home team.
